Numbers and dates

You know how SJ has that thing that counts how many people fave your comic? I kinda wish there was a way to hide it. Sometimes I laugh inside when I see the number drop. Sometimes it bothers me when I know I shouldn't make a big deal about a number. I just end up wondering what I did that makes readers take me off the list. XD I mean, the number is high, but it's just a number, and I'm sure that at least half of those users don't use their account anymore since... well... it has been like 6 years.

But I don't want to know how many fans I have, and I try my best not to pay attention to the number, but when I click manage webcomic to update I SEE IT and I KNOW. D8

I guess it doesn't bother me as much as it would before because it's ALMOST OVER!!!!!! (sort of not really) But in my eyes it's almost over. I was actually thinking of drawing an extra for the print version because there's like... a one-shot in my head but no! NO! I must end it now.

I know I wanted to finish it before AX but in that case, starting tomorrow, I'd have to get 5 pages done every week. XD; That's like 1 page every weekday.

......Actually, you know what. I'm going to try that. Then maybe I can set up automatic updates to be all nice and scheduled again.

That number is hard to ignore, I know. Especially when it's dancing right in front of us like that! But it's just that; a number, and it's hard to say why it does what it does, (LOL, most of the time, I lose fans when I update, and gain fans when I don't, so don't stop, don't ask why, just keep going! XD)

But remember that number can't tell you how far you've come in this, and how much you've improved, and what you've accomplished. So do this the way you want to, at your own pace! ;3

Weird quote to summarize what I'm trying to say:
"Do what you love, and serve yourself a slice of satisfaction. Those who love what you do are your second helpings."

Anyway, if you have a one-shot in your head that you'd really like to tell, how about a written version? A sketch comic? A short visual/kinetic novel? No, wait, nevermind! I forgot you wanted to end this. XD

Maybe the readers just got lost with the story? As in, they haven't logged in in a while and they've missed so many updates/forgot what the story was about. Or maybe because you have long intervals between updates. I mean, there are lots of variables, don't take it to heart. Fans can be so flimsy lol. It's great that you're at least trying to finish the comic rather than ditch it when you're so close.

I mean, I dunno, personally, from what I've seen, typical webcomic fans are pretty harsh and arrogant and self-entitled lol :x

You can do it, pompi!!
